Abolition of Prostitution: a feminist struggle

This handbook is an introduction to the issue of prostitution through a feminist abolitionist approach. It has been used in grassroots work with women throughout Brazil as a resource to help set up study groups and meetings to raise awareness about the importance of fighting against prostitution and pornography. The printing was made possible by the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women and Girls in Latin American and the Caribbean (CATW-LAC). It is also available in digital format for download at CATW-LAC’s website.

Decolonial Feminist Pedagogy: university extension as a means of building citizenship and autonomy for the women of Minas Gerais state — Book chapter

This book, in which I’ve co-authored a chapter alongside other scholarship recipients, is a report on two university extension programs carried out by the Center for Study and Research on Women (NEPEM) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), the “Vale do Jequitinhonha Women’s Forum” and the “Women Building Citizenship: initiatives for women’s economic empowerment and gender equality in Minas Gerais” projects. We talk about our experiences working with women in Vale do Jequitinhonha and Belo Horizonte’s metropolitan area, holding meetings to discuss women’s rights and offering workshops to help them develop political, business, and communications skills in order to achieve economic autonomy. The book, organized by professor Marlise Matos, NEPEM’s coordinator, is available for download at the UFMG’s publishing house website.
